Summary

The Customs Exceptions page is designed to display messages that failed to automatically match to a vessel visit or have been unlinked from a vessel visit by the user. The purpose of this page is to allow the user to review the exceptions and manually map them to a vessel. Messages can be linked to any vessel in the dashboard, whether the vessel is incomplete, complete, or cancelled.

The messages are reprocessed for mapping to a vessel under the following conditions:

  • When TSW messages are received

  • When the vessel schedule is updated

  • When a manual vessel is added or updated

User Process

Before proceeding to link a CEDO message to a vessel visit, user must check if the data is correct in the Dashboard, this includes the below basic checks:

a. The vessel name and inbound or outbound number should match the CEDO message

b. The user must edit the vessel visit with the correct data - this will allow the messages to assign automatically

c. If the vessel is not found, the user must decide to wait for the vessel visit to be populated in the Dashboard or add the vessel manually.

Display Exceptions Records

All exceptions are displayed at the item level. If an item is linked to a vessel, all other items on the same CDO (Customs Declaration) are also linked to that vessel, as linking occurs at the CDO level.

3. Vessel Search

The list of vessels shown on this function are derived from the vessel names found in the messages displayed. This is not a vessel visit search, it only searches for vessel / voyage in the messages, it allows the user to easily allocate messages exception against a vessel name.

  1. CCA Location

It allows the user to select messages for a specific default CCA Destination, for Port of Tauranga this is the Mount and Sulphur Point.

Check with Imelda why when I select a Vessel it doesn't allow to me change CCA location, if the CCA is set automatically then what’s the point of having this function?

  1. Search Box

This is text search function, user can cut and paste values from a spreadsheet i.e. one or more container numbers. containers only or also BOLs same as in the Customs page? cargo Item is no BOL?
