Upon landing on the Search Mount page, it will default to search type: “Cargo”. To begin using the Track and Trace Search, select the search Type. Search values will be split when there is a new line.

Search Type: Cargo

Cargo results reflect data that has been created in a Breakbulk Management System. It is managed by the Cargo Services team at Mount Maunganui. Any queries, please contact.

Search values

Spaces are accepted in a search term (e.g. certain Bill of Ladings).

To search multiple search terms (e.g. container numbers), separate them into different lines by hitting ‘enter’.

Users can search for cargo using the following values:

  • Container numbers

  • Cargo Identifiers such as:

    • Bill of Lading

    • Booking Number

    • Master Bill

    • House Waybill

    • Log Lot Number

When there are multiple cargo identifiers against a cargo, all are searchable. To return results, the search requires a minimum of 3 characters.

Statuses of Cargo

The Line operation, MPI and Customs status of cargo is displayed in the screen as Ticks or Crosses.

  • A black X is a default auto hold

  • A red X is the result of either a TSW message with a hold status or the Port Operations Administrator applying the hold manually.

  • A tick indicates clearance and may have come from a TSW message or the Port operations administrator manually clearing the cargo.

To view details of the TSW status, click the icon: image-20250926-005545.png

A TSW Id is provided when the cargo has been linked to the TSW message in the Breakbulk management System. Alternatively, cargo may have the default status or status overridden for operational reasons in which case the TSW Id will be blank.

PortConnect User support has visibility of the Breakbulk Management System and, if needed, can check for further details such as comments that may be applied to cargo by the Port Ops Admin.

Missing clearances

If you can’t see your Customs or MPI clearance details for cargo, please check your Trade Single Window submission to confirm the request was submitted with the correct CCA. Confirm your submission was to 8590B location of Goods Port of Tauranga Mt Wharf.

Search Type: TSW

Results returned reflect submissions via Trade Single Window for Mount Maunganui and Sulphur Point.

Search values

Search using Trade Single Window declaration numbers, container numbers, or cargo identifiers (such as a bill of lading or booking reference etc.). The order will be by Received date, the most recent at the top of the list.

Export to CSV

Users can export content from the screen to CSV. All column headers and provided cargo identifiers will pull through in the Export to CSV feature.

Port Contact

If your searched cargo has incorrect statuses or details reflected, please contact cargoservices@port-tauranga.co.nz

FAQs

Cargo search status is different from TSW search status

This is because the cargo services team is creating and managing cargo created in their breakbulk management system (independent of the TSW messages). We reflect the current state of that cargo.

A TSW search is a reflection of clearance submissions made and is showing the latest status received from Trade Single Window.

TSW Search Results showing incorrect clearance destination

A new submission will need to be made with the correct clearance destination.

Why is the TSW status “hold”

You will need to follow up with Trade Single Window directly to discuss.

Can PortConnect change or clear a cargo hold

No. PortConnect displays the status only. Holds and clearances are managed by Cargo Services, MPI, Customs, or via Trade Single Window.

Can’t see “Search Mount” under Track and Trace

Your organisation has not been granted access yet. Only a Trading Partner Admin can enable access via Account > Products & Access. After access is granted, you must sign out and back in for it to appear.

Does access apply to all users in my company

Yes. Once enabled, all users under the Trading Partner will have access to Search Mount.

Why is the TSW ID blank for some cargo

The cargo may not yet be linked to a TSW submission, or the status may have been set or overridden for operational reasons.

Why does Cargo Search show cleared, but TSW Search shows hold (or vice versa)

Cargo Search reflects the operational status of cargo in the Breakbulk Management System.

TSW Search reflects the latest clearance response received from Trade Single Window. These systems are independent and may not update simultaneously.

Why do I get no results when I know the cargo exists

Check the following:

  • You have selected the correct Search Type (Cargo vs TSW)

  • Your search value has at least 3 characters

  • The cargo has been created in the Breakbulk Management System (for Cargo search)

  • You are searching Mount Maunganui cargo (not another port)
