Selecting the Exchange Type will display either Exports (exchange type: Load) or Imports (exchange type: Discharge). All column headers for the grid can be sorted in alphanumeric order.

Messages are linked to a Vessel Visit at the declaration level. When they have been linked to cargo items, they will be flagged as ‘Matched’ as shown here:

...

Info

Duplicate messages are not shown.

Load

...

The grid displays rows of clearance messages at the item level. If an item is linked to a vessel, all other items on the same customs declaration (CDO) are also linked to that vessel. Linking occurs at the CDO level.

Discharge

...

The grid content is organized into 3 layers:

...

Messages can be filtered in multiple ways including:

...

  1. Vessel Visit: filter by typing in vessel visit or voyage and select from the prompted results in the drop down.

  2. View Vessel Visit: when clicked, a pop-up window appears with the vessel visit details. For example, image-20240729-034610.png

  3. Date: defaults to the first and last day of the received messages (exception messages).

  4. Exchange Type: ‘Discharge’ refers to imports (CIDO records) and ‘Load’ refers to exports (CEDO records). This is a sticky filter, and the selected type will be applied across all screens until cleared.

  5. Clear Filters: this icon is a button that clears set filters.

  6. Select by Transship: a dropdown of results that can be ‘Internation’, ‘Domestic’ or blank. This is determined by the results showing on the grid.

  7. Importer / Exporter: a dropdown of results to be chosen from. These results are pulled from what is showing on the grid.

  8. Status: when filtering with ‘Status', it searches the status at the item level, not action (for imports). Status will show as ‘Clear’, ‘Hold’, or 'Cancelled’.

  9. Cargo Type: filter messages in the grid by cargo types, Container, Breakbulk, Bulk, Vehicle.

  10. Unchecked Messages: this filters the items on the grid to show only those which have not been checked.

  11. Search: free text search is available. Note: this does not allow for spaces which will result in a new line.

  12. CSV: export a CSV document with the displayed items on the grid.

If a message has been linked to the wrong vessel visit user can click the unlink icon, image-20240729-021020.png , found on the right of messages, to unlink the consignment item from the vessel. When a message is unlinked, it will be moved from the Customs-MPI page to the Customs-MPI Exceptions page.

Info

Note that if an item is unlinked all items associated with the CDO are unlinked.

Mark messages as checked

Users can mark messages as checked using the Chk column. Once all messages related to a vessel visit have been checked then users can mark the vessel visit as Clear for Load.

...

Messages can only be unlinked from a vessel if it is not linked to cargo.

Mark Vessels as Clear for Load

...

All messages must be marked as Checked matched before clicking ‘Clear for Load’. The system will present a warning if there unchecked CEDOs. Items can be cleared for load when the button is showing: image-20240729-020711.png
