Summary
The ' Customs-MPI ' screen shows Customs / and MPI clearance messages that are linked to a Vessel Visit. The screen displays details for each cargo item on the Declaration (CDO number). All items on a declaration are either ‘Clear’, ‘Hold’ or ‘Cancelled’. Messages are linked and unlinked to a vessel per declaration. If one line item is linked, all other items on the same declaration are also linked by the system. Users must verify all individual cargo items before authorising the vessel for load
The Customs-MPI screen allows users to:
Review clearance messages linked to vessels
Unlick clearances if required
Mark messages as checked and mark vessel visits as Clear for Load.

Filter Users can view messages by Exchange Type at these icons:
Selecting the Exchange Type will alter the records showing on the Customs Exceptions for display either Exports (exchange type: Load) or Imports (exchange type: Discharge). All column headers for the grid can be sorted in alphanumeric order.

The grid displays rows of

clearance messages at the item level. If an item is linked to a vessel, all other items on the same customs declaration (CDO) are also linked to that vessel. Linking occurs at the CDO level.

The grid content is organized into 3 layers:
Item: unique consignment item for example, a container number.
Packaging: packages within the consignment item are shown underneath the item. This is only generated from import messages.
Action: contains the instruction for the consignment, such as Hold or Clear.

Vessel Visit: filter by typing in vessel visit or voyage and select from the prompted results in the drop down.
View Vessel Visit: when clicked, a pop-up window appears with the vessel visit details. For example,
Date: defaults to the first and last day of the received messages (exception messages).
Exchange Type: ‘Discharge’ refers to imports (CIDO records) and ‘Load’ refers to exports (CEDO records). This is a sticky filter, and the selected type will be applied across all screens until cleared.
Clear Filters: this icon is a button that clears set filters.
Select by Transship: a dropdown of results that can be ‘Internation’, ‘Domestic’ or blank. This is determined by the results showing on the grid.
Importer / Exporter: a dropdown of results to be chosen from. These results are pulled from what is showing on the grid.
Status: when filtering with ‘Status', it searches the status at the item level, not action (for imports). Status will show as ‘Clear’, ‘Hold’, or 'Cancelled’.
Cargo Type: filter messages in the grid by cargo types, Container, Breakbulk, Bulk, Vehicle.
Unchecked Messages: this filters the items on the grid to show only those which have not been checked.
Search: free text search is available. Note: this does not allow for spaces which will result in a new line.
CSV: export a CSV document with the displayed items on the grid.

Clear for Load
For export messages, users have the ability to set the vessel cleared for load. This is a user decision and not automated by the system, when the user attempts to click ‘Clear for Load’ the system will present a warning if there unchecked CEDOs. Items can be cleared for load when the button is showing:

Clear for Load: is greyed out when there are no items to be cleared showing on the grid.
Cancel Clearance: allows for cancellation of the cleared for load.
View Audit: enables a pop-up window with the Clearance History, date and user.
Unlink CDO to Vessel
Icon: is found to the right of the corresponding items unlinks the consignment item to the vessel. When a declaration number is unlinked, it will be moved from the Customs page to the Customs Exceptions page.

The Unchecked Messages filter allows users to display all the CEDOs they have not yet checked/reviewed.

If a message has been linked to the wrong vessel visit user can click the unlink icon, , found on the right of messages, to unlink the consignment item from the vessel. When a message is unlinked, it will be moved from the Customs-MPI page to the Customs-MPI Exceptions page.

View message details
If the view document icon is clicked, all information provided by NZ Customs is displayed, if the icon for multiple documents is displayed, it indicates there are more than one version of the same CEDO, a status change may have received (Hold/Clear) or the CEDO may have a content change.

Users can mark messages as checked using the Chk column. Once all messages related to a vessel visit have been checked then users can mark the vessel visit as Clear for Load.

For outbound voyages, users have the ability to set the vessel as Cleared for Load. This is a user decision and not automated by the system, when the user attempts to click Clear for Load the .
All messages must be marked as Checked before clicking ‘Clear for Load’. The system will present a warning if there unchecked CEDOs.
It is up to the user to decide when to flag the vessel clear to load
