Public and Subscribed Track & Trace


PortConnect provides two forms of Track & Trace functionality that allows users to look at information about containers that move through our partner ports:

Public Track & Trace - provides limited key information about containers.

Subscribed Track & Trace - Monthly subscription which provides full container information.

Logging into Track and Trace

Click 'Login' from the Homepage > Input login details > Click on Track and Trace > Select either 'Search' or 'History'.

Note the search prioritises active containers, if there are no active containers then it will show the most recent inactive container.

You can only view the full details of one container at a time.

Event Details:

Line Clearance - This field shows the time of general Line Clearances. If additional Line Holds are placed on containers this clearance time will not be updated.

MPI Clearance - This field shows the time of general/blanket MPI Clearances. If additional MPI impediments, such as wash or inspections impediments, are placed on containers this clearance time will not be updated.

Customs Clearance - This field shows the time of general/blanket Customs Clearances. If additional Customs impediments, such as X-Ray or inspections impediments, are placed on containers this clearance time will not be updated.

  • The file can take a few minutes to download if you have searched a large list of containers.
  • The export file extracts all containers from your original search. Any filters you had applied on the screen will not be duplicated in the CSV file.

Troubleshooting

Container Not Found

Containers may not show up for one of three possible reasons:

  1. For Imports the Vessel Bay Plan (summary of containers on the vessel) may not have been received by the port yet.

  2. For Exports the container may not have been pre-advised yet.

  3. The container number you have searched may not be correct.

Track & Trace Security Check


The three Security Check types are:
1. ECN – This is a NZ Customs generated number (currently not available for Port of Tauranga).
2. Random – This is a random number that is set by the Shipping Line.
3. None – This means that there will be no Delivery Check Number required to pick up the container.

Subscription FAQs

How can I sign up to Subscribed Track & Trace?

Complete the Application for Credit - PortConnect Ltd.docx and send to info@portconnect.co.nz to confirm that you want to have access to Subscribed Track & Trace. 

Please note there is a subscription charge of $120.00NZD incl. GST per company per month for Subscribed Track & Trace. 

Is the charge affected by the number of users?

No, you can have an unlimited number of users for your subscription.

What does the charge cover?

The charge is just for access to Subscribed Track & Trace and does not affect users' access to other functionality.

What happens if I unsubscribe from Subscribed Track & Trace?

You will still have access to use Public Track & Trace and you can resubscribe to Subscribed Track & Trace again any time in the future.

If I unsubscribe now can I sign up again in the future?

Yes, you can request access again at any time.

When will the invoice be sent?

Invoices will be sent in the first week of each month.

Who will the invoice be sent to?

Invoices will be sent to the Admin user(s) from each company. If you want us to send invoices to a specific email address then please contact info@portconnect.co.nz 

When are payments due?

Payments are required on the 20th of the following month. Invoices and statements are sent out on the first week of the month.

How do I unsubscribe?

  • Make sure your account has no outstanding invoices
  • Email info@portconnect.co.nz to request to cancel your subscription
  • The cancellation will only apply to the Detailed Track & Trace service.

Where do we send our remittances?

Remittances need to be sent once payment has been made. Please send remittances to remit@poal.co.nz. If you send this to any other email address this will not get processed and will not be updated.
